LEED Renovation Project
Huckestein helped a Pittsburgh developer save $600,000 in construction costs during a full-scale LEED renovation project.
In 2015 Kossman Development came to Huckestein for value engineering expertise on a LEED-certified renovation of the Marquis Plaza office building.
The full-scale renovation of the 72,000 sq. ft. office building was drastically over budget and the developers needed a more economical HVAC system to reel in the total construction costs.
Huckestein saved the developer $600,000 by designing an innovative mechanical solution with different equipment, re-routed piping, an alternate means of temporary heat for the winter, and a phased installation plan.
Pleased by our design expertise, Kossman went on to select Huckestein for installation of the HVAC system in the building. Today Kossman continues to trust us to provide the mechanical scope for their development projects.
